Get on your feet! Get loud! And praise the victory of our God! Your VBS is about to get noisy as kids jump, stomp, clap and celebrate God’s triumph over the world. This is much better than cheering on your favorite team, because God always wins!
BIBLE POINT: What do you do when your team makes the winning score? You MAKE SOME NOISE! At Victory VBS, your kids will meet some awesome Bible heroes who saw God’s victory first hand and had only one choice but to cheer Him loudly. On Day 1, team up with Joshua who discovers that victory comes through courage. Gideon’s obedience turns into victory in God’s name on Day 2. Day 3 introduces Goliath, the trash-talking enemy of God who learns the hard way that David’s faith leads to a big win. On Day 4 Esther rallies the Israelites to display God’s victory through the unity of His people. And finally, Day 5 brings us face to face with Jesus who’s life, death, and resurrection defeated the enemy and brought about true victory in His name!
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! The enemy better run and hide!
PEP RALLY FLASH MOB: What better way to engage your community than to give them an opportunity to serve alongside your church! With the sports theming of Victory VBS, it’s the perfect tie-in with your local school and sports teams. Invite the High School drumline (or better yet, the whole marching band) and cheerleaders to crash your opening and closing ceremonies. It will be an event kids, parents, and the unchurched participants will never forget!
God is on a winning streak that will never end!
MUSIC EVEN DAD LIKES: Because Victory VBS is put together by members of the Christian band Go Fish, it’s loaded with fun and catchy songs that sound like anything you could hear on the radio today. In a GMA interview, singer Jamie Statema explained, “We had never seen a response like what we saw when we began to create children’s music, and we haven’t looked back since. We had no idea there was such a hunger out there for music that the entire family could enjoy together and are privileged to make great music for kids that won’t drive parents bonkers!” It’s great to see these Dads putting their heart into creating music that parents and children can learn from and share.
PRO-TIP: A sports theme in Summer? Could there be a better time to gather the best decorations to match? Everybody’s sports equipment is already out of the crawl space and ready to play. Ask your volunteers to offer all their balls, bats, baskets and more to help decorate the stage – just make sure they label each piece with their names. And check out these cool sports party supplies to decorate breakout rooms!
